Vong Canh Hill used to be the place where the Nguyen Kings chose to be a resting and sightseeing destination. Surrounding the hill is a system of royal tombs of the Nguyen dynasty such as Dong Khanh Tomb, Tu Duc Tomb,, Thieu Tri Tomb, … Experiencing many historical events, nowadays it is still an impressive attraction for many visitors.
Located about 7 km from Hue city center, a few kilometers from Ngu Binh mountain, this place is another scenic spot of Hue. The road to Doi Vong Canh Hue is flat with green pine trees.
Traveling from the center of Hue City, visitors follow Hoai Thanh Street to Le Ngo Cat Street and then turn right onto Huyen Tran Cong Chua Street. Running this road about 4km will arrive, then walk up the hill.
From Vong Canh Hill, visitors can see the lush orchards of areca, longan, orange, tangerine, etc., intermingled in pine trees, the gray tile roofs of ancient temples and tombs. In particular, visitors will admire the beauty of the Perfume River – a symbol of Hue nature, around the foot of the hill.
